Dear Parents, Please see the attached poster detailing information about an exciting nature day coming up at Braintree District Museum. It takes place on Saturday 28 November and combines nature activities with the history of our local Essex science hero, John Ray, who founded the scientific study of the natural world. It will be great fun and also an educational day, relevant to the science curriculum and the local history study for KS1 and KS2, but above all it is a family day out. All Museum activities are also accredited by the Children’s University and attendees can get their passport stamped. Please use the Nature Day link for more information Nature Day

Year 4 had Imaginary Worlds Day on Tuesday 3rd November. Imaginary Worlds Day aimed to support the pupils in their story writing. The pupils had the opportunity to work with figures and model settings and we used the new area of the playground to role play potential scenes. The pupils had a great day and came away with lots of original ideas for their stories and also thanks to the parents for their support with the costumes. Dear Parents, Rayleigh Primary PTA is working with My Nametags to raise funds for the school. Every order placed with My Nametags earns commission for the PTA which ultimately is spent on projects within the school. A number of parents at the school have successfully used these labeling stickers and have recommended them to the PTA. They are bright and colourful and help younger children identify their property. The stickers can be used on clothes, shoes, bags and lunch containers. Just remember to follow the instructions and put on the care labels on clothes. (They won’t stick to the actual clothes). Every order placed with www.MyNametags.com using our SCHOOL ID 24429 helps the school. Thanks PTA team.

ENHANCED SCHOOL SPORT PARTNERSHIP MEMBERSHIP 2015/16 Website Statement RAYLEIGH PRIMARY SCHOOL Dear Parents. In addition to our investment into the ‘Basic’ membership services provided through the School Sport Partnership, we have also bought further support through ‘Enhanced’ membership. This is a bespoke annual plan tailored to suit the specific needs of our school. On a weekly basis our school has also invested in the support of specialists from The Deanes School to provide curriculum delivery to our youngest children in Foundation and Key State 1. This totals 4 hours per week and allows the children to enjoy high quality lessons in a broad range of areas and our staff have the opportunity to learn from the PE specialist deliverers. We are also using the funding to enhance our extra-curricular offer and encourage more children to enjoy School Sport. We are currently funding 1 lunchtime and 1 after school club per week to ensure our offer is broad and accessible
