Rayleigh primary School Fete

The 2015 Rayleigh Primary School PTA Summer fete will be held this Saturday, 4th. July at the school from 1pm - 4pm. This year's fete has a 'Wild West' theme so come along and join us. We'll have a BBQ, 'Saloon' Western themed games and crafts, face painting, tombolas and loads more. See you there. .........Yee Haa !!

District Sports Meeting

Dear Parents,  Please note that the South East Essex Primary Schools Sports Association District Sports Meeting held on 6th of July at Garons Running Track, Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre.

Wood Wonderland

WOOD WONDERLAND This term at school the Quiet Area -  the woods - has been completely changed! Down at the woods there are some new little huts and hobbit homes for you to have fun in. Also there is a new beautifully set out path for you to set foot on. Remember to look after our woods because there are some new plants ready to grow and bloom. Written by Lydia Clarke

Year 6 PGL

PGL On the 15 th June 2015 year 6 went to a place called PGL, which was in Devon. PGL stands for Peter Gordon Lawrence who started it all, but preferably known as Parents Get Lost by the kids!  The coach journey took a total of 6 to 7 hours though it was well worth it. At PGL there were many activities here are a few: Zip wire Canoeing Climbing And many more....... Best of all was the food because it was exquisite!!! We had alternative days for bacon and sausages at breakfast, at lunch hot dogs and baguettes finally at dinner chicken curry plus fish and chips were served.  Altogether it was BRILLIANT!!!!   Written by Lydia Clarke

Year 1: Special Song

Special Song!!! On Friday the 5 th of June 1CT performed a song called Reduce Reuse Recycle to our Maltese and French visitors. Some children were playing musical instruments (a Tambourine, Maracas and a Drum) while some were singing the song. After the song the French, Maltese and English teachers were very impressed! Mr Hack is now working with the children so they can all learn how to play an instrument. Written by Ben Flynn

Year 5 Tudor Module

Year 5 Tudors! 5DF and 5DM have now started learning a new module called The Tudors! At the moment they are doing a making project. There choices to do are boats, houses, weapons or food. Year 5 are also going on a trip to Kentwell Hall with Mr Eagling because he knows ALOT about Tudors and loves history and has already taught Year 5 a whole lesson on Kings and Queens but they will learn a lot more at Kentwell Hall! School Sports Day Reminder

                                                       Dear Parents, please be reminded it is the KS2 Sports Day on Tuesday 9th June (weather permitting). Children should wear t-shirts in their team colour and hats and suntan lotion will be required if it is sunny.  Parents should be at Spring Gardens for a 9.30am start. The PTA will provide refreshments for the children.

Exciting Visitors at Rayleigh

On the 1st of June, Rayleigh Primary School welcomed some very exciting visitors, who are teachers. They came all the way from Malta, France, Sweden, Croatia and Turkey. Miss Pouteau and Mr Hack have been looking after the visitors and showing them around the school. We have seen them in our classrooms and in assemblies. They also attended our Summer Concert, which we hope they enjoyed!  Written by Lydia Clarke

Summer Concert

On Thursday 4th June 2015, at Rayleigh Primary school there was a Summer Concert!  The children sung a selection of songs in their Year groups. The audience were encouraging and supportive. Here are a few songs that were performed: Beatles medley, Southend-on-Sea, Fly a Kite and many more. The orchestra and the guitarists also made an appearance.  Overall a big  thank you to Mr Hack for organising this brilliant event.  Here are some photos of the afternoon.  The Orchestra getting ready to preform!  Year 4 play One Direction!  Well done to everyone who preformed.  The children sung their hearts out.  Written by Lydia Clarke
