As part of our fairy tale module we have been looking at traditional fairy tales and modern re-takes. Today we have concluded our module with a dress up day.  We had a number of visitors into school  and the children had a party finished with ice lollies in the afternoon.  Click here for more photographs

Year 6 Performance

A Midsummer Nights Dream On Monday 13 th July to Wednesday 15 th July 2015 year 6 entertained Rayleigh Primary School with a production called A Midsummer Night’s Dream!!! If you have never heard of this play before, it is one of William Shakespeare’s. There was lots of fun and comedy from some of the characters involved as well! Here are a few characters: LOVERS – Helena, Lysander, Hermia and Demetrius. FAIRIES – Peaseblossom, Monsieur Musterdseed, Bluebell, Monsieur Cobweb, Puck, Oberon and Titania. MICHANICALS – Nick Bottom, Snug, Snout, Peter Quince and Francis Flute. AND MANY MORE!!! Us Year 6’s hope you enjoyed our play!  Written by Lydia Clarke

Year 4's Butterflies

On 19 th of June Year 4 released the butterflies that they were looking after. At first they were tiny caterpillars then they got trapped in their cocoons, finally the creatures transformed into pretty fascinating butterflies. Year 4 enjoyed observing the life cycle of the butterflies. Keep a look out for any Painted Lady Butterflies in the playground.  By Lydia Clarke

KS2 Swimming Gala

On Tuesday the 7 th and Thursday the 9 th Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 competed in two swimming galas! Years 3 and 4 were up first on the Tuesday and demonstrated remarkable swimming and competitive spirit. Danes were in the lead with Romans just behind!  However on Thursday Normans took a brilliant stand and won the Swimming Gala Shield! Medals were handed out as well.  Here are the results: Runner Up Girl – Emma Stone 6HA Runner Up Boy – Ben and Benjamin both in 6DM Who Tried Their Best – Freyja Eagling 6HA Champion Girl – Leah McDermid 6DM Champion Boy – Finley Staff 6DM      By Lydia Clarke

Sports Day this year was held at Garons Running Track. It was a great day with lots of competitors taking part and the weather looked upon the day favorably ! Mr Stone visit

Mr. Stone visits Year 1 On the 30 th June 2015 Mr. Stone visited Year 1 for an interview.  All kinds of questions were being asked and they found out some interesting facts about Mr. Stone's job as a caretaker. Here are a few: Mr. Stone has been working at Rayleigh Primary School for 12 years. He fixes all kinds of things. He brings us fruit and milk. And lots more…. They were very excited about the tools Mr. Stone mentioned. At the end of the day Year 1 made some posters about what they learned. Thank you for all the work you do Mr. Stone!!! Miss Sun

Miss. Sun has left Rayleigh Primary On the 3 rd July 2015 Miss. Sun - our Chinese teacher – left our school to go back to China. :’( We have enjoyed every minute with Miss. Sun and hope she comes back for a visit. Crossed Fingers! Also the Chinese lessons were very interesting and hopefully we’ve learnt something new. Written by Lydia Clarke
