Year 4 Production

This week for Year 4 has been very exciting because they did their Beauty and the Beast play! The whole school absolutely loved it! The costumes were amazing and the songs were so great that we sang along with them! What did you like about it? Well done to Year 4 and the staff that helped!!! Written by Ben Flynn

Year 4's Fraction Quest!

Today Year 4 showed off their maths skills. They followed a trail around the playground answering questions about fractions, decimals and percentages! They had brilliant team work and used what they knew about maths to help them solve the questions! Well done Year 4!

Day For Change

On the 25 th March all year groups made kites with each other for the Day of Change! These Year groups worked together:        Year 6 and Year 2        Year 5 and Year 3        Year 4 and Year 1 When we finished everybody took their kites outside. Thank goodness it was windy!  Altogether we had a good time.  We raised a total of £165 for Unicef so thank you everyone!  Written by Lydia Clarke

Teacher leaving

SOMEONE IS LEAVING!!! L A year 5 teacher is leaving Rayleigh Primary School! Unfortunately it is Mr. Mothershaw. He is moving to a new school which is unlucky for us but we wish him the very best. Written by Lydia Clarke

The Reverend Nick Rowan visited Rayleigh Primary School yesterday. He spoke to the Nursary, Reception Yr.1 and Yr.2 classes about the Easter Story and why we have Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns.

Sports Success for Rayleigh Primary School!

Deanes school hold a sports contest!  On Tuesday the 17th of March Year 5 and 6 children competed in a sports event at Deanes secondary school. While the children were there they took part in badminton, dodgeball and tag rugby.  Out of 6 Primary schools Rayleigh Primary School secured First place! This is fantastic news!  Well done to Rayleigh Primary School and all the other schools that took part. Also a big thank you for Deanes for hosting this exciting event.  Written by Ben Flynn

Govus assembly

Govus Members!!! On Thursday the 12th of March Sue and Chris came for their last assembly with us. We learned not to make fun of others because we wouldn’t like it if they did it to us!  We made them a card to show we will miss them. We wish Sue and Chris very good luck for the future!!!

Storyteller

STORYTELLER On the 11 th March 2015 a storyteller came to our school and he performed rhymes and some very interesting stories!!! He used various different instruments such as the tambourine and the drums.

Rehearsals for the Year 4 Production

The year 4 classes (4JD and 4MD) are rehearsing for their amazing play: The Beauty and The Beast. They have been working hard to remember their lines, perform the dances and learn the songs.  Here they are in action.  Can you guess which scenes from the film they are acting out in the pictures?  The dates of the productions:  4JD are performing on the 24th march; 4MD are performing on the 25 th march.  We will keep you updated with any exciting news!

Shakespearean Masks!

Year 6 have make some fantastic Shakespearean Masks based on Shakspeare's plays: The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth.  Year 6 used papier mache to make the masks and decorated them with paint.  Have a look!
