Dear Parents, Your child should have brought home a clothes recycling bag yesterday.  This bag can be filled with any clean clothes, bed linen, towels, bags and paired shoes, boots, trainers, sandals and flip flops.  It should be brought to school and put in the clothes recycling bin which is outside the KS2 building by Monday 9th May.  It you need more bags, please pop into the school office where we have spares. Little Havens would like to invite the families of Essex to a wonderful event at Little Havens Children’s Hospice in Thundersley.   Join us for a fun packed woodland walk around the beautiful woods at Little Havens Hospice, ( Daws Heath Rd, Benfleet SS7 2LH ) meeting woodland characters along the way. As well as a 1.5k sponsored walk there will be a free tractor ride, face painting, a craft corner, tombola, toy sale and refreshments.    Walks do need to be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.   Year 4 were visited by King Tutankhamun, who travelled from the past to be interviewed about ancient Egyptian society. 

This week school award is presented for Respecting Our Code of Conduct. Well done to all the nominees.

The school PTA annual general meeting will be held at Rayleigh Primary School on  Friday 22nd April at 2pm Everyone welcome. We will be looking for candidates to stand for committee roles including Chair, Secretary and Vice Chair.

The results for our Easter wildlife photographer of the year are in !  The standard this year was outstanding, making the judges job that little bit more difficult. However, after much deliberation, it was decided that the following entries stood out from the rest.  Our thanks to all those who took part.  Key Stage 1 1st.    Year 4JD were visited by the Ancient Egyptian God, Anubis. The children used their knowledge of the Egyptian After life to decide if their classmates would be allowed to enter.

Every Thursday afternoon, the children from Year 2 go to Gordon Roughley Court retirement complex to visit the residents. The children read and learn new skills with them. It is a very enjoyable time for both residents and children.

The RPS Wildlife Photographer Of The Year 2016 is drawing to a close. All entries need to be with Mrs. Ashworth by this Thursday (14th. April) Names & class details need to put on the rear of any entries. Good luck !

A big thank you to everyone who entered the Easter Bake Off - we were bowled over by the number and quality of your entries - you should all feel very proud! The Judges had a really tough time.  Those taking part included Gracie, Liam, Thomas and Rebecca.  In the 'Staff' category, our 'Star Bakers' were Susan Winslow and Rose Miller.
